Using more
than one color to paint a bedroom is a very popular design trend. The
traditional way is to paint the walls of a primary color and the doorways and
windows of another color or a bright white.
Currently, there are two trends:
one is to emphasize a wall and paint it a bright color and the other is to
divide the wall with a chair rail and paint the two sides in different colors.
The process includes the selection of colors, know when to emphasize a wall or
when placing a chair rails, and how to paint the bedroom.
Know your
personal style looking at design magazines, websites and bedroom painting for
inspiration. Even look at your wardrobe, or your accessories, it can inspire
you and give you a good start. Decide how you want to use color.
Want a color
that attracts attention? A color that gives the feeling of warmth? Or a color
corrects the imperfections of the room? Also note how "acting"
different colors. For example, the red tends to make objects appear closer,
therefore, is the perfect way to make a rectangular room look more like a
square.
If you want that attention is
directed toward a specific area of the room or want to correct imperfections, you should consider
emphasizing a wall. These walls generally have two or three tones
unless the rest of the walls of the room. Its location is very important and work much
better when the focus of the room.
Finally, do not use these colors for
upholstered walls, otherwise they will lose focus. If you just want to call attention space, you
can install a chair rail. Usually these are placed at 32 inches (81.28 cm) from the ground. Painting the top of a primary color and the
lower part of a secondary color.
To use your
personal style preferences and purpose of the color in the room, consider using
one of the three typical color schemes to choose colors. The monochromatic
color scheme consists of different shades of the same color. The analogous
color scheme focuses on two colors that are next to each other on the color
circle.
You might want to vary the shades (pale green and blue with a light
gray each is a good example) so that the color gives a feeling of freshness and
timeliness. The complementary color scheme is to choose two colors that are opposite
on the color circle.
Once you have chosen the color,
select the type of paint and glitter. Latex paint is recommended for the bedroom
more than oil painting because it dries faster. Also, note the brightness.
A high gloss paint is much better for door
frames and moldings to the ceilings for bedroom walls. The matte shades are cheap but can be
difficult to clean. Semi gloss paints are easy to clean and reflect light
moderately.
Measure the
length of the longest and the shortest wall, as well as the height at which the
roof is located. Subtract the doors and windows. A gallon (3.78 liters) of
paint usually covers 400 square feet (37.16 square meters) of wall with one
coat of paint
You will probably need more than one coat of paint for the walls
and a base coat. For the ceiling, you should just measure the length and width
of the room.
Once you've
bought the paint, base and tools, prepare the room covering carpets, furniture
and other objects with the covers. Use painter's tape to protect areas that
should not be painted with the color you want to use first.
Clean the walls, and
then paint with the base. Finally, with the color painting from top to bottom.
Paint the ceiling and upper walls first, and then paints down. With respect to
the walls where you want to emphasize, then paint them to paint the other
walls.
